Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Video & Music Downloader app (the "App") collects, how it is used and shared, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.

1. Information we do not collect

• The App has no user accounts. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or password.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise location.
• Files you download and your playlists are stored only on your device. We do not upload them to our servers.

2. Information collected automatically

When you use the App, the App and the third-party services listed in section 4 may automatically collect:

• Device and app information: device model, Android version, language, app version and install time.
• Identifiers: the Android Advertising ID and app-instance identifiers generated by Firebase.
• Approximate location: your country or region, derived from your IP address. We do not collect GPS location.
• Usage data: in-app events such as screens opened, features used, search keywords typed into the App, the links you paste for downloading and the result of each download (success or failure).
• Install source: Google Play install referrer information, which tells us which campaign or page led to the install.
• Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data.

3. How we use information

• To provide the App's features, such as finding downloadable media for a link you paste.
• To understand how the App is used, fix bugs and crashes, and improve features and supported sites.
• To configure the App remotely, for example turning features on or off.
• To show advertising, which keeps the App free, and to measure its performance.
• To prevent fraud and abuse.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Third-party services

The App uses the following services, which may collect information under their own privacy policies:

• Google AdMob (advertising): policies.google.com/privacy. See also how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
• Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config): firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
• Google Play Install Referrer and Google Play In-App Updates: policies.google.com/privacy.
• IP2Location (country lookup from IP address): ip2location.io/privacy-policy.
• Our own servers, which deliver the App's configuration and receive the anonymous usage and diagnostic events described in section 2.

When you paste a link or play media, the App connects directly to the website that hosts that content. That website receives your IP address and standard request information under its own privacy policy.

5. Advertising

The App shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use the Advertising ID and similar information to show personalized ads and measure ad performance. You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings: Settings → Google → Ads or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device. Where required by law, for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before ads are personalized.

6. Permissions

• Internet / network state: to find and download media and load ads.
• Notifications: to show download progress and media playback controls.
• Foreground service (data sync, media playback): to keep downloads and playback running while the App is in the background.
• Read audio and video files: to list and play media saved on your device in the App's library.
• Storage, only on Android 9 and earlier: to save downloaded files.

7. Data retention and security

Analytics and diagnostic data are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above. Firebase and AdMob keep data under Google's retention settings. We use industry-standard measures, such as encrypted connections, to protect data in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices and rights

• You can reset or limit use of your Advertising ID in your device settings.
• You can stop all collection by uninstalling the App.
• Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR or the CCPA, you may have the right to access, correct or delete data about you, or to object to its processing. To make a request, contact us at the address below. Because we do not collect your name or email, we may ask for your device's app-instance or advertising identifier to find the relevant data.

9. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your content

The App is a tool for saving media you have the right to download. You are responsible for respecting copyright and the terms of the websites you use. We do not host any of the content you download.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
